Financial Analysis Through Real Application
Building practical skills in liquidity and solvency analysis takes more than theory. It requires working through actual scenarios, understanding why certain metrics matter, and developing judgment that comes from repeated practice with diverse business situations.
From Confusion to Confidence
Starting Point
Hayley Breckland came to us in March 2024 after struggling with financial statement analysis in her accounting role. She could calculate ratios but couldn't explain what they actually meant for business decisions. "I felt like I was just plugging numbers into formulas without understanding the story behind them," she recalls.
The Learning Process
We started with fundamentals—not just current ratios and quick ratios, but understanding what liquidity actually represents in a business context. Through case studies of Australian retail companies facing cash flow challenges, Hayley began seeing patterns. She worked through scenarios where companies had strong profitability but poor liquidity management.
The breakthrough came when analyzing a real manufacturing company's financials. She identified warning signs three quarters before the company announced restructuring. That moment of connecting theory to reality changed everything.
Where She Is Now
By November 2024, Hayley was leading financial health assessments for her firm's small business clients. She's developed her own approach to presenting complex solvency analysis in ways clients actually understand. More importantly, she trusts her analytical judgment and can explain her reasoning clearly.

"I used to dread when clients asked me to explain their working capital position. Now those conversations are some of my favorite parts of the job because I can actually help them understand what's happening in their business."
What We Actually Teach
Our curriculum focuses on practical application rather than textbook memorization. You'll work with real company data, encounter messy situations, and learn to make informed judgments even when information is incomplete.
Reading Beyond the Numbers
Financial ratios tell part of the story. We teach you to identify what's missing, question assumptions, and understand industry context. You'll learn to spot red flags that standard analysis might overlook.
Industry-Specific Patterns
Retail liquidity looks different from construction. Manufacturing solvency has unique considerations compared to professional services. We cover sector-specific benchmarks and what drives them.
Communicating Findings
Analysis only matters if others understand it. You'll practice presenting complex financial health assessments to non-financial stakeholders using clear language and meaningful visualizations.

Case-Based Learning
Every module includes detailed case studies drawn from actual Australian businesses. You'll analyze companies that navigated liquidity challenges successfully and others that didn't see problems coming.
These aren't simplified textbook examples. They include contradictory indicators, incomplete data, and the kind of judgment calls you'll face in real work. You'll make decisions, defend your reasoning, and learn from different analytical approaches.
Past participants say this case-based method was the most valuable aspect of their learning—because it mirrors what they actually encounter in their roles.
How the Program Works
Our approach combines structured learning with flexibility. You'll progress through core concepts while having room to explore areas most relevant to your specific situation.

Self-Paced Foundation Modules
Core concepts in liquidity and solvency analysis are covered through video lessons and interactive exercises. Work through these at your own speed, revisiting sections as needed. Most participants complete foundations in 4-6 weeks.
Monthly Live Analysis Sessions
Join our instructor and fellow participants for detailed case study analysis. These sessions focus on applying concepts to complex scenarios and discussing different analytical approaches. Sessions are recorded if you can't attend live.
Individual Feedback on Your Work
Submit your analysis of practice cases and receive detailed feedback on your approach, interpretation, and communication. This personalized guidance helps you develop judgment and refine your analytical thinking.
Ongoing Resource Access
All materials remain available after program completion. New case studies are added quarterly, and you can participate in analysis sessions even after finishing the core curriculum.
Next Cohort Begins September 2025
